Stacy Colwell is an independent college consultant working with high school students and their families. She helps students define future goals, identify colleges that fit well with their academic, social, and emotional profiles, and supports them through the college application and financial aid process. She enjoys meeting and connecting with students to help them broaden their understanding of available educational opportunities and her goal is to decrease stress surrounding the college application and selection process for both students and their parents.
She has over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher. She holds a M.S. in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Bank Street College of Education, an M.A. in Higher Educational Leadership & Policy from California State University, Sacramento and a certificate in Career & College Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of several professional organizations: National and Western Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC and WACAC), and Higher Educational Consultants Association (HECA). In her free time, she is an alumni interviewer for her alma mater, Vassar College, and is a classroom volunteer at her local elementary school.
